Wellness Embodied Blog

– So one of the things that really bugs me in the treatment
00:04
of any sort of trauma, emotional disfunction,
00:08
even things like anxiety and depression,
00:10
which are really rampant in our society today,
00:13
is this one size fits all approach.
00:15
So you’ll notice at Wellness Embodied,
00:18
we offer a lot of different services,
00:20
we have physio massage, craniosacral, we do bioceuticals,
00:24
which are practitioner-grade nutritional products.
00:28
We sell DoTERRA, we sell supports, and so on.
00:31
And I will be the first person to say
00:33
that we don’t have everything for everybody.
00:36
And, you know, I don’t wanna be everything to everyone.
00:39
So, we’ve got a really good referral partners book.
00:42
And we liaise with a lot of really awesome people
00:45
within the Cairns region.
00:46
We’re really happy to refer people on.
00:49
And for me, and for the team, it’s really about getting
00:52
that best quality of life care.
00:53
So, health and wellbeing comes from a number
00:58
of different facets.
00:59
So you’ve got your emotional wellbeing, spiritual wellbeing,
01:02
your physical wellbeing, your nutritional wellbeing.
01:07
You know, the quality of your relationships,
01:09
the quality of your workplace,
01:10
the quality of your environment.
01:12
And, I just really find that quite condescending,
01:16
and, you know, misleading, and ultimately dangerous,
01:20
when you’ve got people running around with this whole,
01:22
oh okay, well you know, I’ve got an oil for that.
01:26
Or, this tablet worked for this person,
01:29
why is it not working for you?
01:31
What we tend to find,
01:33
as, I guess, really integrative and holistic practitioners,
01:36
is there’s such a multi-faceted approach
01:40
to treating chronic pain.
01:43
And to treating the pain that arises
01:45
from emotional trauma, or the pain that arises
01:49
from, like, significant complex injuries, and tissue trauma.
01:53
And, you know, I am a huge advocate for what we do.
01:58
And, I’m a huge advocate for the products that we sell.
02:01
I’m a huge advocate for the people around me
02:03
that are in my referral network.
02:06
And you know, for anybody who’s offering
02:07
really, really good client care.
02:09
And so this one size fits all approach,
02:11
I just think it’s really misleading,
02:14
and really quite upsetting for clients,
02:17
and for society as a whole.
02:20
I guess, living, being within the medical model,
02:25
having our degrees, our AHPRA registration,
02:27
and constantly learning, and constantly educating ourselves,
02:31
really, shows us, within Wellness Embodied,
02:37
what we also don’t know, as well.
02:39
And, I’ll be the first person to admit
02:42
that what we do doesn’t work for everybody.
02:45
But luckily, for our clients, it works amazingly well.
02:49
And that’s really cool, but you know,
02:50
it’s part of that whole person approach.
02:52
So, we love to get people in who have complex issues,
02:58
and case manage them, and get them back to full health.
03:00
And a lot of that case management
03:02
also involves, you know, liaising with the GPs,
03:06
liaising with psychologists,
03:07
liaising with exercise physiologists,
03:09
and really just getting the absolute best treatment journey
03:12
for our clients that we possibly can.
