Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (mHBOT) is a non-invasive treatment provided in a hyperbaric chamber. As its name suggests, this form of treatment uses oxygen, delivered in a pressurised chamber at higher than normal atmospheric pressure, to deliver wellness benefits. We use an Eclipse Elite hyperbaric chamber which is safe and has very few contraindications to use. Please note, in contrast to hospital grade chambers, we use a lower pressure to increase your oxygen absorption and saturation. Our chamber is not recommended for use to treat acute conditions, such as decompression sickness.

It can be used to support the treatment and recovery from a range of issues and can provide a range of health and wellness benefits. This includes, but is not limited to, increased blood flow, elevated immune response, reduced swelling, increased cellular energy (ATP), increased metabolism and glucose uptake, increased parasympathetic response and reduced inflammation.

At Wellness Embodied we use Cairns Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to support our clients and optimise their health and wellbeing. Prior to your first session, you will be required to complete a consult with one of our senior therapists. This allows us to discuss your individual condition and determine if this is a safe and appropriate therapy to support you. The mHBOT treatment itself involves you breathing in 98% oxygen via a mask, in our Eclipse Elite hyperbaric chamber, which is gently pressurised to 1.5ATM (1.5 times the atmospheric pressure at sea level, or the equivalent of diving to approximately 5 metres).
