Prostate Cancer and Men's Health
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Australia and like most cancers, early diagnosis and treatment greatly enhances your outcomes. Some common signs of prostate disease include: incomplete bladder emptying, increased frequency of urination at night, difficulty urinating, intermittent flow, urgency and post urination dribble.
We know these are ‘issues’ men don’t like talking about, but our team of Allied Health professionals are here to support you through this difficult time, with compassionate and caring Cairns men’s health management services.
Our Treatment – Your Rehabilitation
Penile rehabilitation is a key aspect of recovery from many male health conditions. Nerve impacts and blood flow disruption are common side effects of scar tissue, or can occur after prostate surgery. Our physiotherapists, in conjunction with your doctor, can advise on treatments, technology, and programs that can assist in penile and pelvic rehabilitation and improvement in sexual function.
If your pelvic pain has a musculoskeletal origin, hands-on, manual treatment can be very helpful. This may involve treating your pelvic floor, spine, sacroiliac joints, pubic symphysis or groin. Our physiotherapists at Wellness Embodied are very experienced in manual therapy for pelvic pain.
The team at Wellness Embodied are here to help. We will develop a treatment plan to deliver optimal results for you, to support your return to health and function. This, coupled with lifestyle advice and technological recommendations, will give you the tools to optimise your outcome.
