Last week was Tinnitus Awareness Week in Australia, so lets learn a little bit about the condition.
Tinnitus is an often distressing condition where the sufferer experiences suffering in one or both ears. It can be present along with vertigo, can be exacerbated by allergies or other factors and is often constant.
At Wellness Embodied, we see a number of clients with tinnitus as a ‘side symptom’- particularly in our clients with headaches and vertigo/ vestibular conditions. We often find that once the clients neck, or vestibular dysfunction is treated, their tinnitus is much lessened, or in some cases goes away altogether.
Tinnitus and Vertigo
Not all people who suffer from tinnitus experience vertigo, but some do. Vertigo is a condition which often causes imbalance and nausea. Along with conditions such as motion sickness and persistent dizziness, sufferers benefit greatly from treatment by an experienced physiotherapist trained in vestibular rehabilitation.
Our physiotherapist Clara has extensive training in vestibular issues and offers an hour long comprehensive vestibular assessment, using the latest research and technology to find and treat the root cause of your problem.
Tinnitus, congestion and allergies.
Many sufferers of tinnitus report feeling worse at certain times of the year, or having eaten certain foods.
At Wellness Embodied we have a degree qualified naturopath on site to assess your diet and any issues which may be increasing your allergic reactivity. Best of all- Catherine is also a physiotherapist so she can treat your neck as needed!
