Wellness Embodied Blog

– Hi everyone.
00:02
Suzanne from Wellness Embodied in Cairns.
00:06
Now, something you may or may not know about our practice is
00:09
that we have a really keen interest
00:11
in the emotional implications associated with physical pain
00:16
and also physical pain associated with emotional trauma.
00:22
And so, I’m actually making a series of videos on trauma
00:26
just dealing with a few key points that we really believe
00:29
and like to educate people on in the practice.
00:34
So, stay tuned for those.
00:35
Just to start you off with a little bit of knowledge
00:39
about our why.
00:40
So, I founded Wellness Embodied basically to be
00:43
a physio practice that I would like to go to.
00:46
I really enjoy dealing with complex clients.
00:51
So people with multiple pains and issues.
00:54
I’ve always had a really keen interest
00:56
in that brain body link.
00:58
So, if we have a look around at the moment,
01:01
everybody from kinda yoga schools, to people
01:03
selling essential oils, to psychologists, to you know,
01:08
every second person is talking about this brain body link.
01:12
What I really want to say to you is, this is not new.
01:15
So, I learned about this 13 years ago in Uni.
01:20
I’ve done courses with David Butler,
01:22
who was part of the Neuro Orthopedic Institute.
01:25
I’ve worked in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, back home.
01:31
And the link between mental health issues,
01:35
but even emotional health trauma and physical pain
01:38
is really, really real.
01:39
So I’d love to share some of my insights with you
01:42
in the coming series on trauma.
01:45
Stay tuned for those.
01:46
And in the meantime, any questions, suggestions, comments,
01:50
anything like that please post them below,
01:52
send us a message, drop us an email,
01:54
or call us on 07-42319 triple seven.
02:00
