DR. ERIN MARTIN

Senior Osteopath

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Musculoskeletal Osteopathy, Sporting Injuries, Women’s Health/Pregnancy related issues, Headaches, TMJ and Neck Pain.

Erin grew up in Melbourne, where she studied Osteopathy at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Since graduating in 2018 with distinctions, Erin has worked at a private multidisciplinary practice on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, and has recently relocated to Cairns. She has also completed both levels 1 and 2 in trigger point dry needling, gaining significant experience in this skill.

Erin is passionate about treating patients of all ages, using an holistic approach and a variety of techniques in her treatment sessions to assist her patients in returning to good health and improving their quality of life. She believes in the importance of understanding the root cause of the problem, developing tailored treatment plans that meet individual patient needs. Treatment / techniques may include: soft tissue massage, articulation, joint manipulation, postural retraining, cranial therapy and exercise rehabilitation programs. Erin is particularly interested in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including headaches, back and neck pain.

In her spare time, Erin loves spending time with her friends and family, travelling, going to the gym and enjoying time outdoors.

RY DARCY

Cooktown Physiotherapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Treating back and shoulder pain, pre and post operative rehabilitation and falls prevention.

Ry is our Physiotherapist in Cooktown. Following graduation from James Cook University in Townsville, Ry has spent the last five years working in far north Queensland and has completed level 1 rural generalist training while working in Mareeba Hospital.

Ry prides himself on taking a wholistic, client centred approach throughout his treatment, tailoring management to each person.

Ry is a passionate fisherman and before moving to Cooktown, spent 12 months exploring Australia with his partner, border collie and tinny.

JESSE BOOYSEN

Occupational Therapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: NDIS, Aged Care, Rehab & Assessments.

Jesse was born in South Africa and moved to Queensland when she was young. She completed her schooling in Warwick, before moving to Brisbane to study at Australian Catholic University. After graduating, Jesse spent several months working on a property in Bloomfield, which she loved. She embarked on Occupational Therapy practice at Wellness Embodied at the end of 2022.

Jesse understands that each person has a unique set of goals and interests, and aims to support them to participate fully in those activities. She is passionate about tailoring her practice to complement the needs and preferences of her clients. Jesse desires to be a life-long learner in order to become proficient in a range of clinical areas.

Outside of work, Jesse enjoys relaxing while reading a book, spending time with friends, exploring the area and horse riding.

DR. WILLIAM PAATSCH

Osteopath

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Acute and Chronic Sporting Injuries, Neck and Shoulder Pain, Tendinopathies and Chronic Low Back Pain.

Will is from Geelong, Victoria where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy) and Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) from Victoria University, Melbourne. Will first became interested in Osteopathy when he experienced a shoulder injury when competing in surf lifesaving ironman events.

Will prides himself on working with people of all ages, to assist them in returning to the activities they enjoy pain free. He can utilise a number of techniques during treatment, including joint manipulation (HLVA), soft tissue massage, muscle energy techniques, articulation and exercise rehabilitation programs.

Will employs a holistic approach to treatment and is always client centred in the way he involves people in their own management plan. He values the importance of patient education and always works within patient goals, to guide their return to optimal health.

Will has experience working with junior and senior football and netball teams in Geelong, which is where his passion and interest grew for treating sporting injuries.

Outside of work, Will enjoys surfing, playing AFL, hiking, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

NICOLAS OLGUIN

Physiotherapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: NDIS. Neuromuscular and respiratory conditions.

Nicolas grew up in Neuquen, a city located in the Patagonia region. He graduated with a BsC in Physiotherapy at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, one of the oldest universities in South America. Before moving to Australia, he worked in private practice treating lower limb musculoskeletal disorders and as a sports physiotherapist in rugby teams.

After moving to Australia, he developed a great interest in neurological and respiratory conditions. Nicolas is interested in treating patients with Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s disease, Cerebral Palsy, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis among other conditions.

Nicolas has been a physio for four years and works at our Sheridan Street clinic. When not at work, he likes to play soccer and enjoys exploring Cairns and surrounds.

FRANK TAM

Physiotherapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Back Pain, Knee Pain, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Neurological Rehabilitation.

Frank grew up in Hong Kong and speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin. After finishing high school moved to Australia, where he completed a degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Newcastle. Frank became a Physiotherapist because he was amazed by how physiotherapy and exercise can help patients, and how much patients can achieve with the help of Physiotherapists. He is always passionate about helping patients reach their full potential and he aims to provide patient-centred, holistic care to his clients.

Frank is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He is interested in treating a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions including back pain, knee pain and stroke rehabilitation. Frank leads our Osteoporosis exercise classes, which help to improve bone density for sufferers of Osteoporosis/ Osteopenia.

Outside physiotherapy, Frank enjoys reading novels, playing soccer, playing piano and going to church.

CLARA ANDRICH

Senior Physiotherapist

INTERESTS: Vestibular Rehabilitation (Vertigo, Persistent Dizziness), Neural Rehab (including post stroke, MS) and NDIS. Clara grew up in Azul, a small town in Buenos Aires State, Argentina. She studied at Buenos Aires University, graduating in 2014, and speaks Spanish, English and basic Auslan. Clara worked in private practice treating musculoskeletal disorders, before moving to Australia. She met her FNQ born husband James while working in the Torres Strait and is happy to call Cairns home now.

Clara is a passionate physiotherapist who is always learning and encourages our team to do the same, in her role as Lead Physiotherapist for the Wellness Embodied ‘Dizzy Clinic’. She is one of our CCMI trained Concussion Management Physiotherapists and our main Vestibular Physiotherapist, using the Vesticam goggles and evidence based techniques to assist those suffering with vertigo, balance issues and persistant dizziness. Clara has also completed further training in Watson headache approach, DMA Clinical Pilates, Neurological Physiotherapy mentoring & Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation Certification.

When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, walking her dog and paddle boarding.

ALYZA BROWN

Physiotherapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Sporting Injuries, Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Running Assessments and Gait Analysis.

Alyza first became interested in Physiotherapy after gaining her blackbelt in karate and observing the many injuries that occurred to her training mates throughout the process. She completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University, Albury.

Alyza grew up in Wagga Wagga, NSW and after completing tertiary education, she relocated to Cairns with her partner.

Alyza is one of our CCMI trained Concussion Management Practitioners and provides Physiotherapy services to local sporting teams, including the Wanderers Rugby Union. She is also our Running and Strength / Movement Assessment Physiotherapist.

Alyza is a passionate advocate for physiotherapy management of conditions such as ACL tears and is always furthering her training in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. In her free time, Alyza enjoys attending the gym, playing team sports and the piano.

MAIGI KORBE

Senior Physiotherapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Paediatrics, Developmental Delay, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Neurological Rehabilitation (MS, Parkinson’s Disease) and Chronic Pain.

Maigi is from Estonia, where she graduated from Tartu Health Care College in 2013. In 2015 she obtained a master’s degree at University of Tartu. She is passionate about helping people and enjoys working as a physiotherapist.

Maigi has a special interest in paediatrics, having treated children aged 2 to 18 years old, with developmental delays, gait patterns disorders, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, orthopaedic conditions and autism spectrum disorders. She also has previous experience in treating neurological conditions (MS, Parkinson’s Disease) and musculoskeletal disorders. She highly values continuing professional development and has done courses in Estonia and Australia to keep her knowledge and skills up to date.

Maigi has been dancing since primary school and loves being active. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, dancing, hiking and travelling.

CATHERINE LIPSETT-MOORE

Senior Physiotherapist & Naturopath

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Impacts of Systemic Disease, Back Pain, Female & Male Specific Health Concerns Across Life and Mitigating the effects of Ageing.

Catherine is originally from Canada but has worked all over Australia since graduating as a physiotherapist. She has degrees in Biology, Naturopathy and Physiotherapy.

Catherine is a strong advocate of holistic treatment and endeavours to treat the cause of the problem, while also alleviating the symptoms. She has undertaken additional study in Clinical Pilates, Dry Needling, Motor Control Retraining, Tendinopathy management, Visceral Manipulation and Hydrotherapy for Chronic Disease.

Catherine offers physiotherapy and naturopathy appointments at Wellness Embodied and looks forward to meeting you.

When not at work, Catherine enjoys anything to do with the outdoors and loves travel, camping, bushwalking and kite surfing.

KATE JEREMY

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Antenatal/Postnatal Care & Exercise, Prolapse & Pelvic Floor Health, Bone Health (Osteoporosis & Osteopenia), Exercise for All Ages, Mental Health, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, CrossFit & Strength & Conditioning Performance Improvement.

Kate grew up in Cairns, before travelling and moving about, and eventually graduating from QUT in 2017 with First Class Honours. Kate has been a Crossfitter for a decade and has extensive experience coaching adults and children in this modality.

Kate loves to find a way to meet a client where they are at and believes that everyone’s approach to exercise should be different. She enjoys helping CrossFitter’s improve their training outcomes, technique and reduce injury profiles. She loves to help patients with osteoporosis or osteopenia, mental health struggles, back pain and musculoskeletal issues.

Outside of work, Kate loves to spend time with her young son, dogs and friends, in the beautiful Cairns surrounds – and training in her home gym.

CAMPBELL WILL

Senior Physiotherapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Back Pain, Rehabilitation, Breath- Therapy/ Wim Hof Technique. Campbell graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013 with the Dean’s Commendation for high achievement. Since graduating, Campbell has worked in Australia and the United Kingdom, in a variety of clinical settings including ICU, neurosurgery, community, professional sporting teams and general private practice. He draws from his wide experience to provide a tailored treatment to each patient.

Campbell has a passion for back pain and educates patients about the importance of the nervous system in recovery. As a certified Wim Hof Method Instructor, Campbell also teaches people how to use the respiratory system as a tool for health and well-being, stress and anxiety relief, pain management and better energy.

When Campbell is not in Cairns, he can be found on Instagram and Facebook through his personal Breathwork brand.

JACQUELINE OLIVEIRA

Remedial Massage Therapist

Jacqueline is originally from Brazil, which is where she obtained her Degree in Physical Education. She moved to Australia in 2019 and completed a Diploma in Remedial Massage in 2021. Jacqueline was once a professional handball player and worked with triathletes (assembling training, assessments, posture correction, physical conditioning) and assisted handball technique (physical preparation, fundamental handball skills, leadership and encouragement during training and competitions).

She believes her mission in life is to help people and she enjoys the beautiful impact massage can have on her clients’ lives. She is passionate about the power of massage and works with great dedication in every massage she does.

NEO NAOKI

Remedial Massage Therapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Neo provides deep tissue massage and trigger point treatment. He is passionate about pushing his clients to achieve optimum function and positivity in their lives.

Neo has been studying Remedial Massage at Demi International since 2022 and prior to this, worked in the massage industry for 3 years. While Neo awaits his health fund registration and completes his Diploma, Remedial Massage appointments will be available at a discounted rate!

JENNY HERNANDEZ

Remedial Massage Therapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Jenny’s approach to muscle and joint pain relief is the use of deep tissue techniques, sport massage, stretching and mobilisation. Jenny also offers lymphatic drainage massage, pregnancy massage, Swedish massage, reflexology, hot stone massage, cupping and relaxation massage.

Jenny has a Diploma in Remedial Massage Esp. Hygiene & Occupational Health, with more than eight years experience in ergonomics occupational health and two years full time remedial massage experience. Jenny is skilled at identifying people’s pain sensitivities and her aim is to continue her professional development in pain medicine.

Jenny spends her free time exercising and promoting healthy living habits.

KATIE TAYLOR

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Katie Taylor has been a practicing Myotherapist since 2000. An interest in the structure and function of the human body lead her to further studies in Lower Limb Biomechanics, and in 2014 she completed combined studies in Naturopathy, Nutrition and Western Herbal Medicine. Katie completed her Graduate Certificate in Complementary Medicine from University of Tasmania in 2021, and has also completed first and second degree training in Reiki.

Katie’s focus is on the treatment of all manner of chronic conditions, using manual therapies and supporting her patients with nutrients and herbs, guiding them to make dietary and lifestyle changes to help them achieve the highest state of health that they can.

ELYSHA EMRICH

CLINICAL INTERESTS: Elysha offers Remedial Massage, Swedish Massage and Relaxation Massage with techniques such as Dynamic Release, Trigger Point Therapy, MET, Mobilisation, Deep tissue, Cross Fibre Friction and Muscle Compression. She also offers two different energy healing and clearing modalities; Access Bars and Reiki.

Elysha is originally from Canada and grew up in a caring family where her mother was there to support anyone in pain, feeling unwell or who felt sore in their body. Over the years, that quality rubbed off on Elysha who is passionate about the wellbeing of others and focuses on the areas requiring attention to be relieved of pain, enabling you to feel free and fabulous in your body. Elysha recently graduated with a Diploma in Remedial Massage (2022), where she incorporates her intuitive touch with the skills and knowledge from her recent training.

In her spare time she studies Yoga Teacher Training, loves to cook and enjoy delicious food for the soul, drink tea, soak up the sun and marvel in these lush surroundings of the FNQ.

DANIELLE ERSKINE

CLIENT INTERESTS: Danielle loves making our clients feel welcome when they walk through our clinic doors, advocating for Wellness Embodied and supporting our goal of making Cairns the healthiest city in Australia.

Danielle grew up in Adelaide before making the move to sunny Cairns in 2001 to further her then career as a Chef. After spending 20 years as a chef, working in Cairns and the Middle East, she knew it was time to make a change to a more fulfilling job with a better work life balance, so she joined the Wellness Embodied team in 2019.

Outside of work Danielle enjoys road cycling and racing, paddle boarding, exploring the local beaches, boxing and spending time with her husband Alan and pug Lexi.

MARNIE WREN

Clinic Manager

CLIENT INTERESTS: Marnie joined the Wellness Embodied team as Practice Manager in February 2019 and has continued to see the practice grow its team, expand its services and expand across 2 locations, as well as outreach services to Cooktown. She loves interacting with clients and providing first class service.

Marnie grew up on the NSW Central Coast and moved to Cairns in 2018. Outside of work Marnie is busy with her 3 young children who you may have seen in the clinic from time to time.

SUZANNE RATH

Director & Lead Physiotherapist

CLINICAL INTERESTS; Chronic pain, complex pain and injuries (whiplash, multiple traumas, PTSD), TMJ, Headaches, Migraines, Post-Concussion Syndrome, Neck Pain, Workcover and CTP claims.

Initially the sole practitioner at Wellness Embodied, Suzanne believes in the importance of a diverse team with multiple areas of expertise, to offer best practice health care to our clients and achieve our vision.

Available for second opinion consults only, Suzanne’s areas of interest include Craniosacral therapy, TMJ, Headaches and Concussion. Her books are currently closed to new clients, however, we can recommend the right member of our team to assist you.

Outside of treating clients, Suzanne is actively involved with mentoring our team, leading our vision and values, growing the practice and engaging with our community through sponsorship, volunteering and participation locally.

In Profile

Suzanne set up Wellness Embodied to be a comprehensive practice which she would like to go to. Having previously suffered months of chronic pain and fatigue following a life-threatening bike accident in Sydney, she has experienced headaches, TMJ pain (and multiple facial fractures), rehab and the CTP process first hand, giving her a uniquely empathetic and knowledgeable standpoint when treating clients. Outside of work she participates in triathlon, yoga and hiking in her spare time.

Suzanne is also an accredited provider of Bioceuticals Clinical Grade supplements and DNA testing.

TREATS ALL AGES

Treatment Techniques are client centred and can include any of: Manual therapy and joint mobilisations (including Watson headache assessment and technique for Headache/ Migraine/ Post-Concussion syndrome/ central pain with upper cervical afferent nerve implication), fascia release/ Craniosacral techniques, medical acupuncture, Kinesio Taping, Movement Based Classification Treatment (Clinical Pilates), Yoga therapy, strength and conditioning, education and graduated return to sport/ activity.

Referrals are not necessary to see a physiotherapist. We treat clients of all ages: Private, DVA, WorkCover and other insurance claims, GP referrals. We offer health rebates on the spot via the HiCaps system.
