Claire is an APA Titled Neurological Physiotherapist with a special interest in Progressive Neurological Conditions. She has extensive experience in the NDIS, working with people with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Muscular Dystrophies, Dementia, Ataxias, Stroke, Functional Neurological Condition, Spinal Cord Injuries, Traumatic Brain Injuries and many other conditions. This includes Huntington’s Disease, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Charcot Marie Tooth Disease, Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, Inflammatory Myopathies, Multiple System Atrophy, Myasthenia Gravis, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Spinal Muscle Atrophy and Spina Bifida.

Her background in Exercise and Sports Science fuses with her degrees in Physiotherapy and Neurological Rehabiliation to assist people with Neurological Conditions return to any hobbies and sports they desire, or learn new skills entirely. Her three passions come together into a role she describes as a “movement coach”. She enables people to move more effectively, efficiently and generally just move more. She has a particular love of gait retraining, especially rehabilitation of running with Neurological Conditions.

Her passion is empowering people to live their best lives and achieve their goals, promoting independence and improving function regardless of their condition or ability. She works with people across all stages of neurological condition or disease, including from hospital discharge, return to work and sport and throughout injury, ageing and disease progression. In addition to clinic appointments, Claire is also available for home visits, community access, gyms and hydrotherapy, for her Neurological patients. She is most familiar with NDIS, but also DVA, EPC, CTP, NIISQ, private health and WorkCover systems, in regards to Neurological patients.

Claire started her career in her hometown of Mackay, before travelling Australia, only to discover that North Queensland is still her favourite place in the country. She has now settled in Cairns with her husband (a Cairns local) and adventure-loving dog. You’ll find her outdoors, hiking and trail running around the mountains and waterfalls, boating and fishing, SUPing or golfing.
